Heya Beya

Today was the Heya Beya festival. Heya Beya occurs on the second Eid. It is a tradition for the children to throw little baskets full of grass into the sea as an offering to ensure the safe return of their parents (elders) from the Haj journey (to Mecca), which also occurs at this time in the Muslim calender. (This is my understanding of the meaning, I apologize in advance if I have any of the facts wrong.) The children all dress in Traditional Bahraini dress, it was a fun evening and all the kids looked gorgeous.
