Up town briefly at lunchtime to meet with the daughter, it being her birthday. So there were chocs and a Spa voucher and from the SK, a suitably expensive snakey necklace.
Then over to finalise the Handbook (I do think one of my stunning snaps will feature on the cover) and head to the Filmhouse to see Phantom Thread which is really the most wonderful film. Held me throughout. There’s high praise. And y’know, watching something like that, so redolent (ha) of a time and place you never knew, but just on the edge of what you did, is as close as it gets to time travel. That’s worth your entrance money.
Onward to a knees up with old (yep, even older noo) MrT. Here he is supping into the Laphroaig, shortly to be chased down with the pickled mussels. That’s as good as it gets now, Steve.
