Going Under
Morning all,
Busy busy days.....coming under the Forth Bridge (love this bridge) a reminder it wasn't to be built in this design or out of steel. Original Engineer who won the right to build had already built the Tay Bridge.....when he started on the Forth Bridge, disaster struck on the Tay Bridge and part of the bridge, train and carriages collapsed into the Tay River.
The Forth Bridge was given to another group due to a loss in confidence and the World got it's first ever steel cantilever bridge.
The light you see to the right is all that's left to remind us that a different bridge could've been constructed, this was as far as it got.
Have a grest day
