Watching from my kitchen window the annual visit from the council tree surgeons. They come, by appointment, to identify and lop off dangerous and/or dead branches on our 65acre of protected woodland filled campus. This is probably going to be the most exciting thing that happens on this dull, grey and damp day, and that's ok. The gorgeous weather of early last week disappeared on Thursday when The Authorities that decide which way the wind blows, sent a typical British spring time day for my birthday - cold, windy and wet. Yesterday was half and half with some welcome sunshine, but today it's back to gloomy damp and grey and I am vegetating at home wrapped in blankets, cats and cups of tea.
