Brooklyn Bridge
We had planned to see a bit of the St. Patrick's Day parade today, but we had lots still to do and we weren't too keen on the crowds. Instead we went to the peace of the High Line, Chelsea Market and Greenwich Village (starting at Magnolia Bakery for a cupcake). Such a difference to the hustle and bustle of other parts of Manhattan.
I'd researched the best places to get macaroni cheese in New York, so we went to Murray's Cheese Bar for lunch. It was good! After that, a mystery tour for Holly to places I'd scouted out on Google Maps - Carrie Bradshaw's apartment from Sex and the City, the Friends' apartment building, then Taylor Swift's apartment. Somewhere in the middle of that, we found the World's Best Cookie Dough shop - quite a claim, especially as it turned out they only opened two weeks ago! It was good, just very, very sweet.
After Greenwich, we took a walk across the Brooklyn Bridge and back. More great views of Manhattan. After that, we were back on the bus to the hotel, but on a diverted route due to the parade.
We found a burger restaurant in Times Square before going to the Rockefeller Centre for the last night of our trip. We went up to the Top of the Rock observation deck to see New York decked out in green for St. Partrick's Day (in the extra pics).
