Mixed weather

These were the clouds that I saw in the distance as I headed toward the mall to pick up my computer. The closer I got, the more towering they became, and yet the sun was out again in just a few minutes. This is spring weather in Seattle.

Today at the library my Vietnamese student and I read articles about the Amazon takeover of Whole Foods and how it is changing the culture there, and about the importance of conversation in developing the cognitive skills of young children. Two very different topics, but our discussions of both of them were interesting and fruitful. He took his family to see the cherry blossoms on the UW campus this week and found them beautiful.
