The one thing that we really miss from our allotment is our two apple trees, so Shelley came up with the idea of buying a small  tree for the garden  -  a Cordon.  Cordon fruit trees are trees grown as a single stem, with all the fruit swelling on short laterals immediately off that central stem.  

It might not keep us as supplied as before, but we will have some fruit from our own garden to enjoy - hopefully from next year.
