More progress
On New Year's Eve, I posted a photo of one of the village farmers start on building some new barns. Since then there hasn't been any real action on the site due to the weather. However, now work has restarted and within days the skeleton of the building has been erected. All in wood.
Another nice day. Had a look at the act of vandalism by the other farmer mentioned a couple of days ago. Found he cut down another part of the hedging to the ground that wasn't overhanging. We are talking about plants with maybe 5cm - 8cm thickness, not trees. I then found that he had dumped all the cuttings on a part of our property 50 metres away. Simply where he thought he was entitled to do so. I am holding back on taking any legal or official action as it will simply heat up the situation and make things worse. He will, however, get to hear my mind when I next see him. Worse still for him, Angie has now seen his work and is fuming - I wish the farmer well when she sees him.
On the positive side, yesterday the first kite circled 20m above our heads in the garden and the two buzzards that have been plaguing us for the last two weeks kept well clear. Just hope the kites find a nesting place close by. Perhaps the branches cut down by the farmer may encourage them to nest exactly at the spot he dumped them which is a group of spruce trees which belong to us on the other side of the stream.
