Bucolia

Harvest of wheat in the Skilly Hills can't be far away. Canola harvesting has been underway for weeks. The hillsides are still green but not like they were a month ago. They are getting progressively browner as the grasses die off, species after species. We have had a good winter so the grass is long and thoughts of bush fires in the coming summer months emerge again. It is ironic that a good winter season tends to mean increased danger of bushfires later. My bushfire plan is that if there is any serious threat I am out of here and any fire can have my house. Life first, possessions second, heroism last.
