Operation day

I’ve been struggling with a painful bunion over the past few years which has really affected my running in particular. Today was the day I was booked in for surgery on it.

It all went very smoothly and efficiently and I was home by 2pm. I’ve been snoozing on and off for most of the afternoon. I really struggle to wake up after a general anaesthetic! I’m in quite a lot of pain now so may need a dose of painkillers. I’ve got a special heeled shoe to wear and crutches which I have to use for 6 weeks. I won’t be able to drive either.

I’m used to being very busy and active so it’s going to be hard having to take it easy and not being very mobile!
