First Of..
Spring... well, British Summer time anyways :-)
Having bemoaned the dark all winter, it's a bit odd to see daylight past 7pm!
If only the temperature would pick up a bit.
I went back to gym tonight. Not for actual gymnastics, but more of a social catch up under the guise of stretching.
And whilst I sort of didn't want to go on the way there, once I got in I was fine. I definitely stretched out all of my muscles, and now that I can't do well, anything, I did muster an ab circuit which was good.
I had a quick go on the beam as the mats meant I didn't have to push with my arm to climb on, and just ran through my routine and did a few spins.
I was a teeny bit naughty and attempted a bridge, but it got sore quickly so I didn't push it. Let's just say this is firmly off limits and the physio would be horrified.
Consequently, the next day my hamstrings and abs are all a bit tender, but in a good way. I like knowing I've used the muscles, it's been five weeks since I last went. My arm was quite unhappy, and it was a very uncomfortable night's sleep.
I will stay away and recover now- I've waited too long to get this fixed, but whilst the first two weeks were a breeze, the subsequent two at work have made it much more painful.
There is a lot to be said for gentle exercise though- I laid on top of the foam barrel last night and gently rolled my back, carefully avoiding letting my hands touch the ground and put any weight on my hands.
It was at this very moment, looking up at the lights, that I realised something that people who don't love gym won't understand- that there is such great joy to be found in being upside down ;-) My mum is loathe to agree ;-)
You can take the girl out of the gym.... ;-)
