TT148 (Tiny) Textures:- High Street Treasures
The usual depressing news
on the box. At least we will soon have blanket coverage of the Harry/Meghan wedding.
So turned Sky News off. And thought about ‘textures’. And fortunately decent candidates were sitting next to me.
My Primark bulldog cushion (bought several years ago, at a bargain reduced £3 - love them). Two Ikea throws and a Debenhams grey cushion. Sorry, should be supporting ‘Not on the High Street’, but would cost an arm and a leg.
Off to see Finding Your Feet this afternoon to use up 2 vouchers we have.
The director’s (Richard Loncraine) daughter-in-law, Indra Ové has a (small) part in the film. I was thrilled to see her in ‘Interview with the Vampire (1994).
She lived 2 doors away from our house in London, was the cutest little girl, then about 5. She and her brother Zak (now a successful artist) used to scramble along the back garden walls and come and visit me. I adored her and remember baking a strawberry cake to share with them in the garden!
I would love to meet her again! And Indra is still my favourite name (along with Xania, but that’s another story).
Her father Horace Ové was the first black film-maker to direct a full length feature film.
18:18 Update on film:-
So, we’re back from Finding Your Feet. Really enjoyed. Maybe a woman’s film, but husband said it was ‘watchable’ (a compliment from him). A sort of Exotic Marigold, but I much preferred FYF. Well acted and produced, never boring, and great feel good factor. Yes, a ‘see’.
