Surviving the Economic Crisis
Turning desperation into determination
Many are finding it difficult to withstand the current financial crunch that plagues our economy. Even the experts cannot tell you what is going to happen. They may have opinions, but they do not know.
Fear steps in. Fear is a legitimate emotion and a strong enemy that wars against our peace. It can also reveal priorities. What do you fear? Why is it important?
It is hard to make good financial decisions when one is caught up in the grip of fear. I have found that fear and faith cannot co-exist. Faith, real faith (not blind optimism), is only as strong as the object of the faith. I choose to express a faith that is based upon an authentic, unfeigned belief in the biblical principles that were made manifest to us.
And don't forget, relationships are more important than "things".
Resolve to not allow any crisis to create problems between you and your spouse. Be honest with each other, and determine to work harmoniously together as a team.
Don't overlook the presentation of opportunity within the crisis. Perhaps there is a bigger picture! Eh?

EDIT ENTRY:
I had to revisit my statement above, and upon second thought I conclude that it is perhaps not entirely accurate to say that fear and faith cannot co-exist. They war, therefore, they co-exist. I guess the point I am trying to make is that they do not continue to co-exist. One will emerge the victor.
