SHAG DAY
The targetspecies today was a shag - some people call them Cormorants - but it seems we antipodeans need to be different and call them shags- or correctly this one is a juvenile Phalacrocorax Varius - maori named 'Karuhiruhi' This juvenile was quite happy for me to approach quite closely - it seems being frightened by homo sapiens is a learnt fear.
