Staying in

Instead of going anywhere, we walked in the courtyard and did laps up and down the corridors today. This afforded many pleasant opportunities:
1) chatting with staff
2) seeing my mom interact with fellow residents
3) calling my sister and then giving the phone to my mom and hearing what she said (that there was a "49,000 dollar check in my sister's car"!)
4) digging through my mom's purse and finding all the bling she's wearing in this photo
5) learning that the bowling ball is indeed my mom's roommate's ball and that MJ actually goes bowling every Tuesday (but with a lighter ball).

Okay, and one more.
6) By staying at Silverado I didn't have to hear "these trees look dead" and "they should cut down these trees" and "why don't they clean this up?" Thank goodness for the park-like tidiness of the Silverado courtyard, a place untouched by the starkness of winter.
