Cockatoo Island.
Wandered around Sydney for a while and then took a trip to Cockatoo Island. Quite an interesting afternoon we had too. The island is named after the cockatoos who originally inhabited the island before the local governer decided that the island should be a prison for second offenders. The prisoners were kept in wooden boxes until they quarried enough sandstone to build their own prison. Then the government in the 20th century used it as a Base for repairing naval ships?
