A popular guy

As I was driving home this afternoon, I suddenly came upon what is a very typical late Autumn scene - ploughing with followers. And it was just as some late afternoon sun was catching the hills and the trees.

It did make me think that this very basic farming activity has probably been taking place in this same field for centuries. Of course, the way in which the ploughing is done has changed, but the outcome and the bird following would always be the same.
