Very old seed pod

This wonderful seed pod was always an item of wonder on my grandmothers mantelpiece. She had a meticulously arranged display of wooden objects and other rustic objects that we were allowed to carefully inspect when we visited.
I have some of the collection on my own fireplace now.

Interestingly it was only a year or two ago that i found out where it came from when I saw smaller versions in the centre of some beautiful waterlilies in Bali.
