A confused genius

Muay Thai boxing

I forgot to mention a couple of days ago I bartered a guy down to 280bhat (£5) for 2 gangham style t-shirts. He started at 500bhat and wouldn't move at 300bhat but I got him down to 280 then gave him a 20bhat tip taking it to 300bhat. The guy stated p**sing himself laughing and nodded at me as if to say you beat me at bartering.

I had an ealy night last night and got back in the hotel at 2am after picking up a pizza on the way back.

To be fair I've only had 1 meal a day since I've been here. I don't now whether its the humidity the drinking on the night or the smells from the millions of street food stalls scattered around. Some of the stalls are dirty had have that vile off vinegar smell which is putting me off my food.

Today we went to patpong and went down the famous street were all the ladyboys are and then to patpong market which was an experiance.

I went to the famous lumpinee muay thai boxing tonight and it was class. We had ringside seats (£40), but it was well worth it. The Thai boxing was out of this world but the local crowd make it. They scream, shout
and re-enact every move. Then they all get carried away with the gambling shouting and screaming. Before the main event there was a demonstration of original Thai boxing. they didn't have any gloves on or there wasn't a ref, but it was class to see.

Before each fight the fighters do these weird cock (as in the bird) dances, strutting their stuff. All through the fight there is music playing as well.

The crowd went mad on the main event and it was a really good fight, (pic). Everyone in the red corner where we were sitting had won tonight apart from the main event. Once the main fight had finished most people went home. I can't wait to see my next Muay Thai fight.

After the Thai boxing we went to a sports bar and had a game of darts, I whooped ass.

Unofficially I have just turned 36 (Bangkok time)
