My mobile is always on silent in the office. Otherwise it pings, beeps and rings all the time.

Trouble is, after I have left the office, I forget to flip it off silent.

As a result I have frequently missed calls from my boss.

He says I have a "Boss Filter" app on my phone.

Now there's an idea for App developers out there.

However, it gets worse.

Our house is on the side of a hill.

Downstairs the mobile hardly works at all.

If it does manage to ring I have to leg it upstairs as fast as I can.

I think some people think they're getting a reverse heavy breathing call by the time I answer.

It seems a long way down.

But and even longer way up.
