Line Running

Morning all,

Tanker coming in and this is how it's moored...boat picks up the ships lone and takes it over to the dolphin on the left, they throw a messenger line down, guy on back of boat ties to the ships line then the boat drives away leaving the guts to pull the ships line up and onto a hook.

Simple.

In weather like this....during beast from the east that boat would rise and fall 8 to 10 feet, wind blowing hard, need to get close enough for the man on back to hook that line without hitting the ship then over to the dolphin to sit long enough for him to catch and tie a rope on without bouncing of the dolphin legs.....turn then do it all again 4 more times ......
