Muriwai
It was a drizzly sort of morning so got some chores done around the house.
Although the gannets are mostly all gone from Muriwai, it is always a nice place to visit and mooch around. While the coastline was somewhat over-run with tourists during the afternoon, I spent a few hours walking/jogging some of the tracks in the forest above the cliffs and houses - some lovely subtropical vegetation there, lots of nikau palms. Then an early meal of fish and chips, sitting on the cliff top watching the paragliders enjoying the westerly winds. Looks like great fun, soaring (like the gannets) along the tops and catching the updraughts.
By now, the light was getting lower, most of the crowds had gone home, time to go down to the beach.
