Leaning towards spring
Crocus
leaning
in scanty sun,
the slender
crocus petals
cupping tiny suns,
shoulder on through
crowding snow, damply
compacted, rotting leaves
piled from autumn past,
to blindly believe, with
perennial trust,
in Mother Nature’s
ancient ways, each
budding bulb
pushing forth
a show of
hope
We are thrilled to see these bulbs appear, not just because they herald spring, but because we thought our squirrel friends had dug each and every bulb up just after we planted them last fall. A lovely sight today from the kitchen window.
For the Record,
This day came in with dark skies and warm showers.
All hands looking forward to three days together and Easter dinner with Nora and her family in :Plymouth.
