Gathering

A few more lambs today. The first of the Suffolk crosses. I caught a ewe first thing and helped her lamb. It was all coming right but it was quite a big lamb and stuck at the shoulders. I brought her in as her milk hadn't dropped yet. I gave the lamb some colostrum to keep it going and it then can try little and often until her milk comes.

After our farm rounds I headed to the north of the island to gather for another farmer. A long day giving the pregnant ewes plenty of time to climb the hills. Actually I appreciated it too. Little Pip was super keen today and did a great job.
