The Blue Hour

We arrived home. There was still plenty of snow!
We had left the house in Blackburn at 5:45, and then been travelling all day, so despite the early hour we were both very tired. By the time we'd unpacked the car the sun was just going down and the snow was looking very blue.
It had been a good time in England. The sadness of saying goodbye to a very old relative was balanced by the goodwill and attitudes of the family who had gathered for the funeral.  But it was very good to be home, and looking forward to sleeping in our own bed!
