The View from the Redcliffe Hotel

We did have a summer to remember though. It was the monthly meeting of the Torbay Civic Society today. No one went outside for coffee. There was an interesting talk on John Lennon, and the Beatles in Devon. The Beatles were in Torquay in 1963 and 1964 and stayed at the Imperial Hotel. Recently a signed menu card from this stay, minus a sleeping George Harrison, was sold for a pretty penny. On Monday we gather again to unveil a plaque to Sean O'Casey, on the house where he lived in Torquay for a few years until his death in 1964.
