Reflecting– Fiona Clasen

 
Just back from Fiona Clasen’s gallery opening in Dunblane museum.
 
Fiona specialises in pastel and she has had a picture short-listed for this year’s Royal Academy annual summer exhibition in London.
 
“It is the first time I have ever submitted work so I was surprised and delighted to find that I have got past the first round of the selection process,” she says.
 
Her work has a quiet meditative quality, beautiful and dream-like, and she works within the established canon of Still Life Paintings following on the tradition of Giorgio Morandi so its not hard to see why the Royal Academy are interested in her.
