Red Acer
It was a question of playing the waiting game - like being part of a paparazzi extravaganza - each photographer clocking the lenses and gear of the other. More tripods than you could shake a stick at! Very serious stuff going on there today but great fun to be involved with everyone being so chatty and friendly. Stunned when some guy even stood over my shoulder to sneak a peak at my camera settings - well I think that was what he was looking at :)
The forecast was sunny bright and cold - in the event, it was drizzly and cloudy but I was worried that if I left my visit to Westonbirt Arboretum any later there would be no leaves on the trees to photograph. Hopeful that the sun would shine through to lift the colours I pottered round with hundreds of others - never giving it a thought that it was half term and therefore going to be extremely busy!
At every turn the colours appeared even more stunning - so many opportunities and fabulous subjects to choose from - I was like a kid in a sweet shop! In the end it is all subjective really. You had the canopy, the vistas, the lines, the Japanese scenarios, the rare species and the magnificent colours and shapes - a mind boggling array of dazzling photographic possibilities! I liked this Acer because it was a bit different peeking through the branches. The name 'acer' comes from the greek word meaning sharp referring to the pointed leaves.
I have a house full of family this weekend who are relying on me to entertain and feed them so may fall a tad behind with the comments .
