Oh plleeeeese give me some more sunflower hearts!

Early morning photo session for mouse this morning. The crisp sunny start we were forecast hadn't materialised so I spent a chilly half hour kneeling in the back yard getting housemaid's (photographers?) knee. I have a good one of him with his mouth stuffed full looking for all the world like he'd been caught raiding the biscuit tin, but settled for this one cos he looks like he's pleading for more food. The red in the foreground is an acer leaf, a nod to the stunning autumn we're having.
As luck would have it the sun did put in an appearance a bit later, and I shot off round the woods. Had it mostly to myself which was just as well as there was a lot of kneeling around taking photos of fungi. I did actually squeek with delight at the sight of a whole stand (what is the collective noun?) of fungi. Crazy, I blame the intoxicating leaf colouring. The mouse won out because more pain was inflicted on the photographer for this one!
Half term has finally arrived, so fingers crossed for some more good weather and sunshine.
