awareness...

...of breast cancer

this is my contribution to the cause - the call for pointing a finger at breast cancer this month - and doing something to help prevent it... stop it... halt it - in its ongoing trudge against the human population...

it's easy to take some steps - get a mamo... do monthly self-checks... visit your doc annually... eat right... exercise... if stats are against you though - early detection will help you to slay the beast successfully! we can all be strong warrior women and men with this disease... and not just breast cancer, people...

just this week, i have been diagnosed with a form of skin cancer - boo! took me by surprise... i never figured - but i fell into the right categories... blue eyes - blonde hair - fair skinned - had some early burns as a kiddo... and you know how it was found? because of that stupid rash i had - and having to see a specialist... who checked me over - decided to do a biopsy... that i sort of laughed off - thinking it was going to be nothing at all... we've caught it though - i'm going to be fine... it's treatable, being taken care of next week... but a wake-up call about being in the sun - even for those quick moments when i go out to take a photo... do i put on sunscreen? am i good about protecting myself? do i think about it? i must... we must be proactive... as blippers - we are in the sun a lot - take the necessary steps to shield yourselves from harmful rays - don't second guess what they might be doing to you - like i have been doing - because doing so - will ensure the continuation of...
