Mippit
I saw my first meadow pipit when I was walking on the marshes near Burnham with my sister a few years ago. I hadn't seen one since until I twice saw them sitting on the track at Lodge Farm in the snowy weather recently. Then I got a decent shot of one on a post at Blue House farm last week and yesterday I captured one in a silver birch at Therfield Heath.
At Lodge Farm this afternoon, I went between the showers, a whole flock were flitting back and forth. They're happy-sounding little birds, pipping as they bounce in the air. They nest on the ground and often end up raising cuckoo chicks. :(
