Cabbage White.....
.....she may not be as beautiful as the Monarch and she may be pesky in your vegetable garden but there's always a home for the dainty cabbage white in my garden through all the seasons.
Sunday.......feels like a looong day with turning our clocks back last night, calm with lovely blue skies, lots of dew sparkling in the sunlight this morning.
It is today the 1st of April, 30 years ago since my lovely dad passed away. I'm thankful he didn't suffer for too long but sadly he missed some good times. He would've loved sharing his skills with his grand kids along with his silly jokes. He was a quiet, practical man who had a smile for everyone, a heart of gold and ready to help whoever needed it. He always made time for mum and my brother and I. Sunday afternoon's in particular, we would all enjoy a Sunday drive. Sometimes it would be down to the Whakatane Heads where we watched the fishing boats come in over the bar, sometimes it was to Ohope Beach just over the hill or perhaps a bush walk through White Pine Bush and sometimes just enjoying an icecream together on a warm summer's day or calling in to my grandparents for a scrumptious afternoon tea. I miss his wink, nod and smile, his encouraging and supportive words.....he was just 55 years old.....love my dad.....
