Flooded
There was no chance of a quiet hour in the bird hide at Elford today.
I knew the river had burst its banks in some areas around Alrewas and Tamworth, but I was surprised to see the great expanses of floodwater, almost up to the main road into Elford.
As far as I could see, none of the houses had been affected, and the gardens, apart from the riverbank area, were above the danger level. The birds were visiting the feeders (precarious filling them!) and I nearly managed a shot of a wren....too slow to focus though.
It was business as usual in the village though, with an event in the gardens.
Happy Easter, my friends
