Bunny Slippers

Sister number two bought these for Lucy. They're more of a novelty gift as they're not really meant for the walking! I did use my proper camera, but couldn't really get a good shot as I was standing above her.

At last the sun peeked through a little bit and we had a pretty dry day. A welcome relief from the torrential rain yesterday. Lucy and Shelle came to hang out as they were having their dining room painted and wanted to avoid the fumes.

I made Lucy laugh by showing her Ro's beloved toy duck from childhood, wiggling his bottom to make him fly and making duck noises! It must have gone down well as she managed a few giggles! We held her in standing position in the kitchen and she was moving her legs and trying to walk in her haste to touch Little B. It was good fun, even if her Gramps has been the rain on the parade. I handed Lucy to him and told her to see if she could make her "Grumps" crack a smile... ;-)

Bank holiday weekends in the UK are usually crap weather-wise, but I never mind as I know I've got a couple of weeks respite. It's been a bit dull but I've had a streaming cold (obviously, as it's the school holidays!) and I probably need a bit of downtime and guilty napping!

I had a date tonight, locally this time. I knew as soon as I saw him that sparks weren't going to fly, but we did enjoy each other's company and we shared some good conversation. I really thought I was ready to leave the past in the past, and dared to believe I might be over 'it', but I'm not sure I'm all the way there yet, although it's a hundred times better. It turned out he's been to the Dutch pub quite a bit and really enjoyed Amsterdam as a city break and so we sort of got to talking which led me down (happy) memory lane.

I've had a life, sometimes when you've retreated a little it's nice to remember that! It made me think of the past a little, maybe it's just nostalgia that messes with your head a little.

Anyways, it was a no from me, and him, but we've said we're up for being friends which can also be a blessing too. And that is fine by me :-)

On the plus side it made me remember I might want to take a little trip to Amsterdam in the summer- it's really pretty and a great photography opportunity, plus my mum said there's some sort of Leica meet-up there, so perhaps I might start looking into it.
