2018 Wednesday — Campus Meeting

The Chancellor of California Community Colleges has informed all California’s Community Colleges of the new AB705 law which mandates that all in-coming freshmen students must complete their freshman math and English within 12 months of entering the college or the college will not be funded for the students who do not. This all begins with the Fall 2019 semester. So we have a little bit of time.

Our college is always at the front of any change and trying to meet the new mandate. This new law will wipe-out 99% of the remedial classes that have been offered for all of the 27 years that I have been teaching at the college. So this is the first of many meetings to explain, to discuss, and to try to solve this situation.

This is ought to be interesting!
