Nurdling

I was down on the beach this afternoon looking for nurdles to illustrate an article I'm writing for my writers' group - which meets tomorrow.  Like many writers I write best in panic mode ie with a deadline looming.  Nurdles, for the uninitiated, are the tiny plastic pellets which make up most plastic products.  They are often swallowed by birds and fish in mistake for food and so enter the food chain.  The best nurdle hunters are about seven years old: they have sharp eyes.
