It was really sad to drop the boys off at Dorchester rail station - Stan was going back to Southampton for his last few months at uni . Jack flies back to Burkina Faso on Wednesday . We may see him in July or September. I had a big lump in my throat .
Paul felt really unwell with a chesty cold so he stayed in the car whist I joined in with the Bird Walk. We were thwarted by what was meant to be one of the lowest tides of the year but the low pressure and bad weather had driven the tide higher up the beach . We had been going to walk out from Ferrybridge on Portland, across the sands to look at sea slugs. However, we saw some birds - larks, turnstones, a ringed plover and a whimbrel amongst others.
