Piz Palu

Day 4 of 4 on this ski tour. A perfect day at last for our highest peak. We climbed up Piz Palu on skis, except for the final section which we did on foot, roped together. We crossed narrow bridges over crevasses and weaved in and out of the ceracs. At times scary, but beautiful, and totally unforgettable. The descent was perfect powder all the way. It's many years since I climbed in the high mountains and today was just one of those unbelievably perfect days.
Down at Morteratsch I met up with Malcolm, Marieke and Phillip who had spent the last two days together. It was lovely to catch up.
The first extra was taken this morning of the moon setting over the Piz Bernina, a 4000m peak with a classic snow ridge, and the highest mountain in the range. The second show our ski tracks on the way down.
