Bobbie and his Gingerbread Girl
When we were in the Alsace at Christmas, mum bought the boys a plush Gingerbread Man which Milou instantly adopted, so the next day I went to get another one for Bobbie, but they'd sold out! Luckily I found a Gingerbread Girl in another shop, but Milou's adopted that one too lol!
He's so funny as every day he brings both of them into the living room and puts them in the middle of the rug along with the 'birthday cake' - have a look at my extra and you'll see what I mean, as I've just looked up from typing this and saw them all there again! Anyway, this morning Bobbie had them both so I gave Milou his 'man' and left Bobbie with his 'girl'. Bobbie is more accommodating when it comes to me taking photos, Milou turns away from the camera, which is why most Blips are of Bob.
I had an appointment with my orthopaedic surgeon at lunch time for the first of three sessions of Shockwave Therapy on my Achilles tendon, and I was advised not to drive, so Alan worked from home and took me to the hospital and waited so he could drop me off at work afterwards. Well all I can say is that it's a barbaric form of treatment and was so painful that he had to stop. It's basically a hand held device that passes high energy sound waves through the body, which doesn't sound too bad when I write it like that, but the probe has a ball bearing in it that basically fires repetitively at the end of the probe, therefore causing a pummelling feeling directly onto the tendon. It was very loud too, and Alan said he could hear the machine out in the waiting room!
I don't know where we go from here, but the other options he discussed with me don't sound very pleasant either, so I think I'm going to say enough's enough - it's better than it was and hopefully over time it'll start to improve. One of our physiotherapists at work has said she'll give me some ultrasound therapy free of charge, it's painless and will hopefully help calm it down.
Work was fairly quiet with it being half term, so I was able to finish at 6.30pm instead of my usual 8pm.
