Shangela meets Tess!

When your friend takes her daughter and your daughter to see a drag queen. But not just any drag queen. We are talking RuPaul's Drag Race Shangela. Not that I know who that is but Tess definately does and has been doing me an educate in between rolling her eyes at my complete dereliction of drag queen knowledge mother duties. Luckily Wendy has this base covered and had a spare ticket, 14+ age restriction so it was all good. Tess came home high as a kite totally excited and reeling off everything that had happened at high velocity. My favourite bit of the video clip from Wendy was the one and only Shangela, totally Beyonce'd up, talking to Tess and Katie from the stage and suggesting Wendy might want to go to parenting classes for taking 14 year olds to the show. Shout out to Louise Seattle Soeder who kickstarted my daughter's love of RuPaul in the first place, which was subsequently fanned the flames by her Travelling Auntie Jo and has now been sealed the deal by Wendy "Show Tunes and Jazz Hands" Galloway.

Meanwhile Sam, Dave and checked out Isle of Dogs (loved the drum beating rhythms) and Ready Player 1 (...gaming for gamers) at the cinema, no pointy inflatable dresses in either of them but im sure there were drag queen avatars in Ready Player 1.
