Courage

I needed to be up at 5am and out at 5.30am. So, naturally, I woke up at 4am which made for a long day.

Negotiated freezing fog to the train station for a day of meetings in the city of London. Where heavy lunchtime drinking still seems to be a thing and you can still see pin-striped chaps in bowler hats but mostly it’s young boys in Barbour jackets.

Successful day completed (including a respite for fish and chips at Borough Market) and so back to Kings Cross for the train north.

And then our courageous boys in red overwhelmed City. I followed it on Twitter, with text updates from Joe and Scott.

Returned home late to deep snow. Instead of watching the match highlights me and Mrs S got the ladder out and had to climb on the flat porch roof to try and clear the snow as there was icy water pouring through the ceiling lights.

A quick dram to warm up after we finished and then collapsed into bed.
