Cateran Trail

Starting from Alyth in Strathmore, we walked the 17miles of the Cateran Trail via Bridge of Cally to Blairgowrie. Another part of Scotland I have always whizzed through in a car all my life and never had time to stop. Until now.

The colours in the autumnal trees were magnificent, copper beeches abound. It was guy cauld though, with some snow on the higher ground.

One highlight of the trail was discovering a beaver colony, and the associated 'infrastructural engineering' that they are known for. I was truly shocked to see what an impact they have on the environment. Although I took some photos, I found a better article online that shows some of their work.
