Ring Ouzel

I couldn't believe it this morning. There were 2 strange birds in the garden, with markings I hadn't seen before. A quick look in the bird book and I found out they were a pair of Ring Ouzels. I'd never heard of them before. They normally live in Scotland or mountainous areas, but the occasionally stop in the South of England on their passage to other areas. They certainly had a good feast...the extra is not for the squeamish ;) I feel blessed that they chose my garden to spend the day in. They were still here this evening.
