Out on the Tarn

I got up early this morning and headed off to the moor - there's a specific shot I want and the windows of opportunity to get it are quite rare. The sky was clear, which was good, except for a cloud bank exactly in the wrong place!

Hey ho - I'll get it one day. It was so cold. I had my Winter Gear on but for camera work Inferno Mitts are no good! Can't operate a camera in huge clunky gloves and my fingers soon knew about it!

I'd better get used to it though - planning a Winter Camp in the hills very soon. They really are the best - clear midnight blue skies at night, warming yourself up with a dram of something good and getting all deep and meaningful with the combination.

Getting into a sleeping bag never feels so good as when it's freezing outside your tent. And it's best to stick to a 'wee' dram as otherwise you *will* need to leave your cosy bag and your tent at sometime in the night to do the necessary, and that's *no* fun. No fun at all.

The farmers market was on in the village this morning for the second time - a really welcome addition to the calendar and it looks like it might be a regular thing. Loads of local produce, organic, properly farmed, all good stuff. I think it's slightly more expensive than the supermarket but I'd rather pay a bit more for good quality, and support local farmers. People like my blipmate LocalFoodLover have been doing this for years!

Finished the daylight hours over at Yeadon Tarn and that's where this photo was taken.

Thanks for the feedback for Moorside. I'm really enjoying night photography and trying to figure out the best exposure times and so on. This might just see me through until Spring!
