New Song

Writing a song can be very difficult without inspiration. Sometimes too much inspiration brings strong emotions and that's the situation I'm in tonight as I attempt to put pen to paper (I'm old school) in the hopes of writing a song for my daughter. The tears have already started...

They grow up so fast, don't they? My gosh it seems like yesterday when she jumped off the bus and ran to me and literally jumped into my arms. I still can't get through that memory without breaking down and I hope it always happens but I find there are more and more days when I wish I could go back and re-live it once more. Just for her to be my little girl who would rather have a hug than twenty bucks.

I don't know what the title will be but here's the first verse:
"I know our path will end someday
I wish this time we have could stay
I've searched but still can't find a way
So please, be my little girl today."

I'm crying again...
