Playing With Fire

BIGGER FLAMES.

Had a fantastic night tonight at a Samhain (Hallowe'en) Fire party in woodland just outside Norwich, meeting up with many like-minded locals. The highlight for everyone, I'm sure, was a fire-dancing performance by Penny and her 3 companions - they really are brilliant at it, and perform at lots of functions (glammed-up, unlike tonight when they came as party-goers). It really was quite amazing to watch. I took many shots - although not the greatest quality due to the light conditions in a woodland clearing at night and the speed at which they span and twirled the fire!
Penny's pal totally blew me away with her hula-hoop with 5 flames emanating from it! Wow!
At one point one of the guys used a flaming sword - the speed with which he was manipulating it became so great that the flames kept turning to an electric blue - it looked like a light sabre from Star Wars!

I had a hard time choosing between 3 shots, but this one of Penny swallowing fire got my vote for my blip ....

Of course we had a bonfire, with food and drink on offer.

Last night was violent hail storms through the night, and today's mostly been a mix of sun and shorter, lighter outbreaks of hail. But by tonight all that had changed and the weather was so kind to us - clear, bright skies and a wonderful, almost-full moon - the perfect night for it.

Samhain of course isn't actually until Wednesday, but who wants to party mid week? lol
