Romans at Sutton on Sea

They were hardy, those Romans, braving the cold, wet and murky. We natives were less hardy, listening to the explanations of clothing and weapons but disappearing into the mist before the demonstrations of archery, military invasions by centurion columns and fighting from horse-back.
