Desert Squirrel

Misty rain

I think we made. the most of today.  A walk first thing, then spread some mulch so that it wouldn't turn to compost in the wet weather we're expecting for the next few days, and planted replacement shrubs for the trees we knocked over at the weekend.  Then the drizzle intensified, and we retreated indoors to sort out appointments for the rest of the week.

No wind yet, so although it is cosy with the wood burner going, it really hasn't turned that cold.  However, we're expecting. the predicted first winter storm overnight, so I guess it will be nice to have the house warm and cosy.

Our native bellbirds love these exotic eucalypts, as well as our conifers, so today we have been almost deafened by their song.  (We do have native trees too, but the exotics are taller, so preferred by many of the birds).
