Chartwell

Not a very inspiring back blip today. As you will gather I visited Chartwell yesterday with a U3A trip and the weather was unkind. I hadn't planned to go but a friend had 'double booked' so I went in her place. It was a long day and the weather stopped us going round the grounds properly but the house made up for it. Winston Churchill was a very brave man to buy the house without his wife seeing it!
The memorabilia was fascinating and very well presented. Fortunately it was not very busy so could linger a long time.
Restaurant was doing a good trade!
