Noon day gun - Castle Cornet, Guernsey
The last time until April next year saw the firing of the Noon day gun at Castle Cornet, here in Guernsey.
A tradition in Guernsey since the early 19th Century, it was discontinued in 1923. In 1974 the ceremony was re-introduced and the gun is fired every day during April until the end of October.
At last, I made it on time - as I have been wanting to blip this for months !
I wanted to get the actual gun firing - but I jumped when it did and the picture was not too good.
Good in large.
